University of Pennsylvania’s study of living physics is well known. They study theoretical and computational approaches from physics, information theory, and computer science; the goal is to understand neural circuits in heterogeneous living systems.

They have a freely accessible database of ~4000 natural scenes from the baboon habitat in Botswana; they can be used for psychophysics /neuroscience /computer vision research.
